PASTOR WALTER B. SMITH was born in Buffalo, NY, in January 1951. He was soon taken by his parents to a Bible preaching church in Springboork, NY. He was spirtually born again as a young boy by placing his faith in Jesus Christ as personal Saviour, trusting Him alone to save his soul. He felt called to full-time Christian service in his teen years while a member of the First Baptist Church of Elma.. After marrying his childhood sweetheart, Paula, he surrendered to preach under the ministry of Dr. John R. Rice, who directed them to Midwestern Baptist College in Pontiac, Michigan. He graduated from Midwestern Baptist College in 1974 and was ordained into the Gospel ministry by Emmanuel Baptist Church in Pontiac, Michigan (Dr. Tom Malone). Since that time, he has been a pastor of independent Baptist churches for 34 years and was in the ministry of Evangelism/Revival work for 10 years. It is said by many that his preaching of the Word is clear and concise, tempered by compassion, and bears the blessing of the Holy Spirit.
